Jamba's Meal in a Cup

JAMBA HAWAII INTRODUCES THE ACAI CUP, “A Meal in a Cup”

Contains natural energy & antioxidants, perfect for on-the-go lifestyles

HONOLULU, HAWAII – December 27, 2007 – Jamba Juice Hawaii (JJC Hawaii, LLC) introduces the Acai Cup today (excluding University of Hawaii campus) as an extension of its healthy and on-the-go freshly-blended smoothies. The Jamba Acai Cup is blended with pure Acai concentrate and soymilk, combined with bananas, strawberries and blueberries, topped with organic granola and fresh bananas.  Jamba calls this a “meal in a cup” because it’s thicker, it has the added “chew” factor of granola and bananas and customers can enjoy eating it with a spoon.

Acai (Ah-sigh-ee) is a palm berry indigenous to the Brazilian Rain Forest and is considered to be one of the most nutritious and powerful foods on the planet due to its high concentration of antioxidants (more than any other edible fruit in the world!), natural energy, essential fatty acids Omegas 6 and 9, fiber and protein. Acai tastes like a blend of berries and chocolate and is an extremely rich source of energy because it’s infused with guarana, a natural source of caffeine also native to Brazil.

“After testing the Acai Cup at several Jamba stores on Oahu, the customer response was so overwhelmingly positive and the demand so strong for this type of product that it was obvious that we needed to offer Acai Cups at all Jamba’s statewide,” explained John DeMarco, director of operations for Jamba Hawaii.  “By adding fresh bananas and crunchy granola, customers can enjoy a healthy meal that fits their active lifestyle and fits in their cup holder. Whether customers are athletes, soccer moms, business executives or just need a healthy and delicious quick meal, the Acai Cup is a great choice for breakfast, lunch or anytime.”

The Acai Cup is available in two sizes, a 16 ounce cup size ($4.95) and an original 24 ounce size ($5.95).  Prices slightly higher on the neighbor islands and Waikiki. A 24 ounce Original Acai Cup contains 40 milligrams of caffeine (a can of soda contains 35 mgs), 15 grams of protein and is an excellent source of Vitamin C, calcium and antioxidants.

Also, starting December 27th through January 23rd, customers can log on to jambahawaii.com to enter to win a Sony Bravia 40 inch flat panel LC HDTV S series.  Winner will be announced on January 28th, just in time for the Superbowl on February 3rd.
