Jamba Juice Customers Donated 36,830 Pounds of Canned Goods for the Hawaii Foodbank

(January 17, 2006 – Honolulu, Hawaii) --  Jamba Juice teamed up with the Hawaii Foodbank in the fight against hunger and launched the third annual ‘5-a-Day Keeps Hunger Away’ holiday food drive at Jamba Juice stores on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island.  Jamba customers responded with an overwhelming response and donated 36,830 pounds of canned fruits and vegetables to help feed the 118,000 people served by the Foodbank each week.

We are thrilled with the results of our annual food drive and are continually impressed by our loyal customers and employees who go out of their way to help the Foodbank feed Hawaii’s hungry people,” commented Teneal Jones, Jamba brand marketing leader. “Jamba is committed to encouraging people to eat 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day.  Our 5-a-day campaign supports this message and the Foodbank at the same time.  The added incentive of receiving a free Jamba smoothie for donating 5 cans of fruits or vegetables helped us achieve these strong results.”

This is the third year Jamba Juice and the Foodbank organizations on each island have worked together to collect canned goods.   Over the past three years, Jamba Juice has collected over 100,000 pounds of canned goods and 45, 124 pounds of rice through the annual Race for Rice campaign.
